The picture on the left was taken in 2003 at 350 lbs. The second picture was about my lowest at 135 and where I’ve stayed for the most part.
In a nutshell, I was morbidly obese my entire adult life. Over 15 years above 300 lbs. Type 2 diabetic, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, back problems, edema problems and more. In 2005, at the age of 45 I got lapband after heart-wrenching talk with my long term doctor that I would be lucky to see 60, let alone see my children have families of their own. I was 322 lbs the day of surgery. In 17 months, I lost 150 lbs and weighed in at 170 lbs. At that point I had major skin removal surgeries that took 15 lbs of excess skin from my belly alone. Lapband did me a service, but it did not teach me how to eat or how to deal with a thinner me. It did not teach me life skills. It also does not work for me like it did for those first few years.
From 2007 until 2010, I battled regain and an extremely messed up metabolism. I had no thyroid issues or anything that would cause it. Merely the fact I'd spent all my life trying to lose weight was enough. My body had become too efficient with the few calories I would give it. In 2010, I was back up to 220lbs and miserable. I ran across a forum online for the HCG diet. I thought if I can just get back to 170lbs I'd be happy. Well I did that and more. I kept setting my goals for a lower and lower weight. I lost 85 lbs on HCG in 3 rounds. I weighed 135 lbs. HCG helped reset my metabolism as well which astounded me. I won't go into that here.
My health issues have all been resolve with my weight loss. I am not required to take any prescription medications. Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol are all resolved and if anything I deal with low blood sugar and low blood pressure now.
So since getting to goal weight I have constantly dealt with some regain here and there. I don't want to rely on a hormone anymore to get the weight back down. No way. I analyzed my issues. Eating out too much, overeating at meal times, and the worst, snacking at night do me in again and again. Standing at the fridge or pantry and shoveling in food. Not good food either. I know how to eat healthy. I’ve done it countless times. Heck I’m an expert at weight loss. It’s the keeping it off that means the most work for me.
I started Sizzle Slim the beginning of April 2017. Soon after, I went back to low carb which has always worked for me in the past. In 4 weeks, I lost another 18 lbs and 21.5 inches. Sizzle Slim has become a valuable tool for me. It has helped cut out my overeating at mealtime and my nighttime grazing as well.
Of course my journey has been much more than I could ever hope someone would want to read in one post. I hope if anyone is out there struggling, wanting to lose weight, trying to decide where to start that this can help them see that it can be done.
